Removal of chatbox

Dear all,

The teachers and officers have decided to remove the chatbox from our Coy blog. A few months ago, I commented that if the chatbox was abused again, it would be removed. Recently, there were a few unacceptable comments posted, for example (especially the parts in blue):

24 Dec 10, 12:27 PM
Angry member: TCL : go hell

24 Dec 10, 03:38 PM
Waterbottle: LOL , angry member , your a troller , gtfo , LOL

Like I said before, it's ok to be honest and to share what you think and feel. But it is not ok to be a troller. I found this definition of troller: "a person who either intentionally or pointlessly yells and swears and insults someone with no or some purpose". What's even worse is attacking others while hiding anonymously behind a nickname.

It is unfortunate that we need to do this because of a few black sheep, but we simply cannot tolerate such behaviour on our Coy blog.

Pulau Hantu Photos

Getting there...

On the island...

Thanks to the rain, these are the only two photos I took on Pulau Hantu itself! :(

Spot the centipede! The island is crawling with them at night, and they terrorised the Sec 1s!

In between the photos above and below, we had an eventful night defending ourselves against the creepy crawlies, and a VERY wet and VERY cold morning from 5 am onwards. Everyone was glad to get off the island.

An expedition / adventure usually involves pushing yourself to, and beyond your limits, physically and emotionally. It also involves braving the elements, and I think we survived the worst that Singapore weather could throw at us - from the sunniness of Saturday afternoon to the lightning, rain and strong winds of Saturday night and early Sunday morning. I hope everyone emerged stronger from this experience!

Going back...

Most of the Boys would probably say that the boat trip was the best part about Pulau Hantu!

The end - cleaning stores

Any thoughts on this year's Coy Expedition? Post a comment!

Sportsmen Practice Session(s)

To prepare for the Cluster Games Day on 11 Sep (Sat), practice sessions are strongly advised and recommended in order for all of you to get used to one another's style of play, strengths and supporting each other's weaknesses. You would have known from sports news that the best players are not necessarily the best team players. Only teams win games, not individuals.

Sportsmen Practice Session
Date: 9 September 2010 (Thursday)
Time: 8.30 am to 12.30 am
Venue: BLSS
Boys involved: SPORTSMEN participants
To bring: A badminton racket
Volunteer needed to bring an air pump to pump the 4 basketballs

Thanks Jinrong and Jiawei for taking the initiative to arrange for the above practice session so quickly :)

We only have 2 days left for practice: Thursday and Friday (9 & 10 Sep, BLSS is not open on 10 Sep due to Hari Raya so you have to practice on your own outside)

The following are the equipment list of what's available in the BB room for your practice.

Equipment List:

  1. 3 small tubes of shuttlecocks (bring your own badminton racquets)
  2. 2 badminton nets (if you happen to come on Thursday morning, ISH can be used for practice (Badminton CCA members practise usually in the afternoons). If not, you will have to practice badminton in the open as the Hall is used for exams also)
  3. There are 4 basketballs, but all are without air! Can someone bring an air pump please? (None of the PE teachers are around during the holidays to lend me the PE Store room key to borrow a workable basketball) If not, you guys have to bring your own basketball.
  4. 14 floorball sticks (7 red and 7 yellow sticks), 1 floor ball.
  5. There is no handball in the whole of BLSS. So you will not be able to practise this game.

Please do not lose any of them and count them before and after you have used them. Report any damage or loss to me or Mr Lin.

Alright! Train hard, play hard and have fun! All the best! :)

  • What was the most difficult part of your BB CARES experience?
  • Did anything make you feel frustrated? What?
  • How did you feel at the end of BB CARES?
  • Do you think you managed to help the beneficiaries in some way? How?
  • Do you want to do it again? Why or why not?

OPERATION LOST MEMORIES

Remarks:

Some of the Sec 4 and 5 BB Boys have been losing their happiest memories of BB. We suspect foul play, and will be investigating the matter. We hope to get to the bottom of it, and help them recover all their memories by 29 May 2010, with your help.

* WATCH THIS SPACE FOR DAILY UPDATES *

DAILY UPDATE #4 (27 MAY 2010)

This is the final update before OPERATION LOST MEMORIES.

Things are getting creepier... The picture below of a mysterious and frightening figure was taken tonight near one of the Sec 4s' houses. He/she/it seems to be holding a wand?

We've put together an elite team of Primers:

We will try to ambush the culprit tomorrow night. If our mission fails, it will be up to YOU to help the graduating Boys when OPERATION LOST MEMORIES commences on Saturday.

DAILY UPDATE #3 (26 MAY 2010)

SIGH. More lost memories...

Siong Guan's:

And Wei Liang's:

Some of the affected Sec 4s shared about having nightmares of a "dark, hooded figure", or feeling an "evil presence" in their rooms. Who is behind this? Someone, or something, must be doing this to the graduating Boys.

We've found some clues, and hopefully will have more to report tomorrow.

DAILY UPDATE #2 (25 MAY 2010)

The problem is worse than we thought...

Sin Yew has no memory of this:

And in Jonathan's mind, this never happened:

Is it a disease? Something psychological? Stress? Or something more sinister? What's going on?!

DAILY UPDATE #1 (24 MAY 2010)

Jordon has forgotten all about this:

And Ardi has no recollection of this:

We are no closer to solving the mystery, but hopefully we will find out more tomorrow. Your comments are welcome.
