Basic First Aid Course (7 - 9 Jun 2010)

Date: 7 - 9 June 2010 (Mon to Wed)
Time: 0900 - 1630 (report outside BLSS BB room first)
Venue: BLSS AVA
Attire: School Uniform only
Boys involved: All Sec 2s and 3s

Programme:
  • This 3-day course covers a wide range of topics such as shock, wounds, bleeding, fractures, suffocation, unconsciousness, etc. Participants are taught both theory and hands-on skills such as bleeding control, bandaging, abdominal/chest thrust for choking, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), etc.
  • There will be practical and theory tests.

Remarks:

  • Course is conducted by a St John Ambulance Association (SJAA) instructor, Mr Yeo.
  • If you pass the SJAA's Basic First Aid Course (3-day), you will be awarded the First Aid Stage 3 badge immediately.
  • If you are absent for any of the days, you will NOT be certified nor get any First Aid badge of any stage.
  • Please report punctually to give 82nd company a good image to the instructor.
  • Since the venue for the course is a full day in BLSS AVA, you might want to bring along a jacket as it can be quite cold as the day goes by.
  • Course is paid for using your Edusave. For non-citizen Boys, course will be paid for by the company.
  • Lunch will be provided. No cost is involved.
  • You have been informed of this course as early as April and should exercise collective responsibility by attending this course and not go on overseas holiday during this time. Unsatisfactory reasons of absence will result in the course still being paid for using your Edusave, or a wastage of BB company funds leading to less budget for better activities for all Boys.
Otherwise, have an enjoyable course ahead! :)
