End of SGB Duty @ JP2!

Our 7 days of duty @ JP2 are over! Hope you all managed to collect lots of gifts and donations, and fulfill lots of wishes!

Well done to everyone who was on duty! :) Only 1 Boy was absent in the entire week, but he made up for it on another day. I received some complaints about improper attire (e.g. no chevron) and hair though. Do make sure your uniforms are ok the next time you wear them.

The next date for SGB duty is 19 Dec 2009. We'll be doing deliveries, so you'll get to see for yourself where all the rice, cooking oil, biscuits, canned food etc. end up!

Photos from Coy Expedition 2009

82nd Coy's Expedition 2009 took place last weekend (7 - 8 November).

Phase A was a 10 - 15 km hike (depending on how lost the hike groups got!) that brought us through:
  • Bukit Brown Cemetery
  • Caldecott Hill
  • Toa Payoh
  • Potong Pasir (for the Sec 2s and 3s only)
  • Kallang
Caldecott Hill... Home of MediaCorp

The Most Competitive Group

Thought this was cool...

Dining in style by the Kallang River, against the Singapore skyline.

From Kallang MRT, everyone got to take an SBS bus to East Coast for Phase B, which involved cycling 16 - 20 km (the Sec 1s had a shorter route) to Pasir Ris Park, our campsite; and then 5 km to Changi Beach Park the next morning.

This Sec 1 group had to have a late dinner on the beach at East Coast Park.

Our bikes

The Sec 1s stretching before cycling.

I think it was way past 2 a.m. by the time the last groups (the Sec 1s) reached Pasir Ris Park - and they still wanted to go prawning!!! They were amazingly enthusiastic and energetic throughout the day, but I felt they needed a well-deserved rest. We'll go prawning some other time!

Room for three...

Phase C was a short hike around the Changi Village area on Sunday morning. The whole expedition was topped off with lunch at Changi Village.

I told the Boys that the expedition would be a test of five things:
  1. Skills (e.g. map reading, basha pitching)
  2. Physical endurance
  3. Mental strength
  4. Friendship
  5. "Survivability"
I'm glad to say that everyone who took part in the expedition passed with flying colours!

Any thoughts on Coy Expedition 2009? Do feel free to post a comment - this is YOUR blog!
